You may think that your partner won't find out about you cheating, but that's usually not the case. The truth always comes out in the end. If you have cheated, you might aswell come out with it and tell her the truth before things go from bad to worse.
I found an article earlier about Why Men Cheat and thought I'de put my own words in. Enjoy :-P
1. "Because it was an option" — while this may be an option, it does not suffice. You have the optional to either be faithful, or to cheat and risk losing your partner. That's the reality-- Is it worth losing your partner? If you're just in it for a wild act, perhaps you can ask your partner if they're interested in an 'adventure' or if they would like to experiment a bit more sexually.
Honestly, it's not a very good option and if you're just going to ruin things, why bother?
2. "It boosts my ego" — Meaning, they can get ANOTHER girl? Why would you want another girl? This is a very sorry excuse and I hope nobody has ever used it before. You know what else boosts your ego? Winning a game of golf! Men like chasing, we've heard this a million times but you know what? Coming from a girls perspective ... I DON'T WANT TO PLAY YOUR SILLY LITTLE CHILDISH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GAMES.
3. "We're growing apart" — If you're growing apart, why not take the next step and talk about your relationship. Perhaps you can fix it, get away for a while, or end it if necessary. I don't think cheating it the right answer, and that's coming from a girl who has cheated before.
I'de rather be DUMPED than CHEATED on. (and yes, I have been cheated on before)
4. "We argue a lot" — A lot of healthy couples argue, have you ever heard of couples therapy? If you are growing apart and argueing then why are you pretending that your relationship is still just that.. a relationship! Why aren't you trying to see what you can do to help the situation whether it's staying together or not staying together?
5. "I'm falling out of Love" — Then why aren't you talking to eachother about this?
6. "Our sex life sucks" — Try buying a book or reading online, maybe try new things perhaps?
7. "I want to get revenge" — two wrongs don't make a right, you don't need to take revenge if you've taken them back and you've accepted it and you're trying to "fix" your relationship, congratulations, don't ruin it.
8. "I want to try something new, different, and exciting!" — Try taking a trip together, or doing something new. Cheating shouldn't even be an answer to this question, the last resort should be splitting up so you can try those things without your partner if it's a must.
9. "I wanted to see if I could get away with it" — Chances are, you won't. The truth ALWAYS come out one way or another. It doesn't matter if it comes out the next morning or next year, it will come out and you will lose.
10. "We're swingers" — Lastime I checked my books, "swingers" swung TOGETHER as a couple. This doesn't stand by itself, perhaps she let you sleep with others while she was doing it too, but it's two totally different things.
Swinging is like an orgy, or threesome with the person you love, cheating is not.
In conclusion, You won't get away with it and you're risking A LOT for a simple one-time-thing. (hopefully that's all it was!) Maybe the reasons are more complex then the ones listed above, but either way: Cheating = Bad. ;)
