What do you think about the big contraversial subjects of today -- #1 THE DEATH PENALTY!
Theres two sides, really;
• Two wrongs don't make a right: AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY
• They should suffer the same they made people suffer: FOR THE DEATH PENALTY
Where do you stand?
Honestly, I don't know where I stand because it's not something I think about.
After doing a bit of research I think I lean more towards against it but mostly because I think it's inhumane (not that the crime they committed wasn't) and honestly, probably more punishment to spend life in prison. (IMO)
#2 - ABORTION
I'm Anti-Abortion for my own personal reasons, But I do think it should be legal because of back-alley abortions which is more of a health threat than legal abortion. In back-alley abortions you aren't just risking the baby/Fetus's life you're also risking the mother's life.
Theres actually 2 ways you can lean on abortion,
Pro-Life >> to make it illegal
Pro-Choice >> to make it legal
I guess that makes me Pro-Choice, but then I get confused because I'de never get one personally.. So that makes me Anti-Abortion/Pro-Choice, right?
I was pro-life for a very very long time, but after reading a lot of health risks making it illegal could potentially kill more than "save".
#3 - Gay Rights
Should homosexuals be allowed to marry?
In my eyes, yes. I think Marriage can be between two men, two women or a man and a woman. Love should have no bounderies (unless its between a 10 year old and a 50 year old) and marriage should be about just that -- love. I don't really see the difference, everybody should be treated equally.
Again, two ways:
For gay marriage or Against gay marriage.
I'm for gay marriage
#4 - Religion
Me, Myself & I .. I'm atheist.
HOWEVER, I think you should be able to believe in what you want to beleive in. I don't think you should be able to push your beleifs on others, though. There are many, many religions and I'm fine with all of them.. I chose my own (even if it's not a religion and more of a belief) and so can you!
In conclusion;
- I don't think there should be a death penalty.
- I think abortions should be legal BUT for my own personal reasons wouldn't get one.
- I think marriage is about love, not gender.
- I think you should be able to be any religion you want to be, and not have to get others beliefs stuffed down your throat.
However, I don't want to change your mind or anything and you should always stick up for what you believe in!

Death penalty - against it. Two wrongs DON'T make a right, make them stay in solitary confinement their whole life.
ReplyDeleteAbortion - Pro-Choice. I don't think life begins until birth (though I don't support late term abortions) and I think they can often be necessary under some circumstances, especially rape, incest, etc. Also, I believe it should be a woman's choice, and like you said there may be more unsafe practices. I used to be pro-life though so I see both sides.
Gay rights - Support them, no doubt. Why should anyone be denied basic rights based on their sexuality? The only reason they're illegal is because of "Christian" beliefs, but what happened to a little thing called separation of Church and State?? Ugh.
Religion - I'm Catholic. But I'm open minded about other religions and not discriminatory. Honestly, I couldn't care less what religion (or lack thereof) other people choose to believe in. I hate when people try to stuff their beliefs down your throat.
Very good post! :)
I agree with everything you said/feel the same way. Except I'm not athiest =] But that's beside the point! You write very well, good job.
